Start your 2023 racing season at the NYRR Joe Kleinerman 10K. Recommit to running for your new year's resolution with a lap around Central Park—you're almost guaranteed to set a season's best! This race honors the late Joe Kleinerman (1912–2003), distance runner, track coach, and a founding member of NYRR.

Race Number Pickup
Numbers (which include your timing tag) may be picked up at the NYRR RUNCENTER at 320 West 57th Street (between Eighth and Ninth avenues) on the following dates:
- Wednesday, December 28, 10:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
- Thursday, December 29, 10:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
- Friday, December 30, 10:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, December 31, 9:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
- **The RunCenter will be closed Sunday, January 1 and Monday, January 2 for the New Year holiday**
- Tuesday, January 3, 10:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, January 4, 10:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.

Runners are encouraged to pick up their bibs at the RUNCENTER to avoid race day lines.
All participants will receive a New Balance Long sleeve tee at number pickup.
On race day, number pickup will be available from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. at Race-Day Central, (located behind the ball fields on the East Drive near 102th Street.).
Show your race confirmation email or the QR code from your NYRR account to pick up your race materials. Proxy bib pickup is available for this race, so a friend or family member can pick up your race materials. The person will need the QR code for your NYRR account, along with a form of photo identification that corresponds to your NYRR account.

Bag check will be available beginning at 6:30 a.m. at Race-Day Central, (located behind the ball fields at the East 102th Street Transverse).
Course description

The course is slightly more than one lap of Central Park’s six-mile loop.
- Mile 1: Start on East Drive just south of the 102nd Street Cross Drive and head north around the northern end of the park through the Harlem Hills, then south on West Drive.
- Mile 2: Continue through a series of three rolling hills as you pass the Reservoir on your left.
- Mile 3: Enjoy a welcome downhill, followed by a flat section.
- Mile 4: Pass the 72nd Street Transverse and climb a small hill to the TCS New York City Marathon finish line. Continue south around the bottom of the park and onto East Drive.
- Mile 5: Pass the 72nd Street Transverse and continue north. Ascend Cat Hill and pass the Metropolitan Museum of Art on your right.
- Mile 6: Pass Engineers' Gate (East 90th Street) and continue north. Shortly after the six-mile mark, turn left onto the 102nd Street Cross Drive and continue to the finish.

After the conclusion of the event, official results will be posted on results.nyrr.org.
Awards will be presented on site to the top-three finishers in the overall men, women, and non-binary divisions. Runners who place in the top-three of their age group will be able to claim an award in the days following the race by filling out our Age-Group Awards Claim Form.
Prize Money
NYRR Member Division
Prize money amounts equal for men, women, and non-binary. To be eligible for NYRR Member Division prize money and time bonuses, runners must have been NYRR member since at least October 7, 2022, including the date of the race, and must complete the course in 42 minutes or less.
