Due to the heat, we unfortunately have to cancel today's NYRR Brooklyn R-U-N 5K race. We apologize for any inconvenience. The safety of all participants, volunteers, and staff is our top priority.

Due to limited available dates, we are unable to reschedule races. NYRR policy is not to offer refunds, but because of the last-minute nature of this cancellation, we'd like to offer you the opportunity to receive value for your race entry and to get back out and running with us again soon.

Please view the three resolution options listed below; we'll be in contact on Tuesday, July 16, at 9:00 a.m. when resolution options are available in your NYRR Dashboard.

Race credit toward your 9+1 program completion for guaranteed entry to the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon
NYRR gift card for the race fee amount to use for a future event registration
Donate your race entry fee to NYRR

If no selection is made, you will be given a 9+1 credit. This will be reflected in your dashboard by August 2.

Registered runners who have not yet picked up their premium (a New Balance hat included in registration) can do so at the NYRR RUNCENTER featuring the New Balance Run Hub through Monday, July 22.

Race Day

Race-Day Number Pickup Policy

On race day, number pickup will be available from 5:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. at  Race-Day Central (located at the Nethermead in Prospect Park). Bib pickup will close 10 minutes after the start time of the race. Runners arriving to pick up their bib after that time will not be issued a bib and will not receive 9+1 credit for the race.

Show your race confirmation email or the QR code from your NYRR account to pick up your race materials. Proxy bib pickup is available for this race, so a friend or family member can pick up your race materials. The person will need the QR code for your NYRR account, along with a form of photo identification that corresponds to your NYRR account. 

Start Location / The Course

The race will start on West Drive and Well House Drive. Runners will head South towards East Drive proceeding counter-clockwise around Prospect Park. Runners will reach the one-mile mark near the intersection of Well House Drive and East Drive and the two-mile mark just beyond the hill near Grand Army Plaza as East Drive becomes West Drive. Runners will continue south on West Drive, where they will reach the three-mile mark just before passing Center Drive. From there, runners will make a left turn onto Center Drive towards the finish.

Bag Check

Bag check will be available beginning at 5:15 p.m. at  Race-Day Central (located at the Nethermead in Prospect Park).

Planning to check a bag on race morning? While we will continue to have clear plastic bags available at number pickup, we encourage you to use your own clear reusable plastic bag, no larger than 17" wide x 20" high x 7" deep, with the tag affixed.

NYRR is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen bags or items from bags checked at NYRR bag check.

Runner Tracking (App and Web), Results, and Awards

Live, unofficial results will be available in the NYRR Racing App and at liveresults.nyrr.org during the event.

After the conclusion of the event, official results will be posted on results.nyrr.org.

Awards will be presented on site to the top-three finishers in the overall men, women, and non-binary divisions. Runners who place in the top-three of their age group will be able to claim an award in the days following the race by filling out our Age-Group Awards Claim Form.

Cancellation

If NYRR cancels an offering on the direction of local, city, or state authorities, participants will be informed as soon as possible, including communication of participant resolution options. Events will not be rescheduled.

No Refunds: Entry fees are non-refundable and may not be deferred or transferred.
