General registration for the 2020 Popular Brooklyn Half is closed.
2020 marks the 40th running of the Popular® Brooklyn Half, the largest half-marathon in the country.
The Popular® Brooklyn Half is an iconic 13.1-mile journey through the amazing borough of Brooklyn.
The race starts near the Brooklyn Museum, travels through Prospect Park, and ends at a finish line on the Coney Island boardwalk.
The Popular® Brooklyn Half is part of the NYRR Five-Borough Series: Run New York. Five Boroughs. One City.
Live unofficial results are available during the race at liveresults.nyrr.org. Features include leaderboards, map tracking, and an individual runner search that can be shared on Twitter. Tell your friends and family to follow your progress, and get unofficial results right after the race!

Registration and Entry
Registration for the 2020 Popular® Brooklyn Half opened on Wednesday, January 22.
Runners could claim their guaranteed entry during a one-week advance registration window from January 8 to January 15. Runners who earned guaranteed entry must have claimed their entry during this window.
Runners from outside the United States can secure guaranteed entry by contacting one of the race's International Tour Operators.
Popular® Brooklyn Half Pre-Party Presented by New Balance
Before race day, you must pick up your race materials, including your bib (which includes your timing tag), New Balance tech shirt, and official bag-check bag that you can use to check your race-day clothing, all at the Popular® Brooklyn Half Pre-Party Presented by New Balance. For the Popular® Brooklyn Half, number pickup will take place at the Popular® Brooklyn Half Pre-Party Presented by New Balance. Number pickup is not available at the NYRR RUNCENTER.
The pre-party will be open on the following days:
Wednesday, May 13: 12:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.
Thursday, May 14: 12:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.
Friday, May 15: 12:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m.

Why Race with New York Road Runners?
When you run with NYRR, you do more than compete in a world-class race—your support and participation play a role in fulfilling our mission to help and inspire people through running, and benefit NYRR’s free youth and community programs, including Rising New York Road Runners, NYRR Striders, Open Run, and more.
Before race day, pick up your race materials, including your bib (which includes your timing tag), New Balance tech shirt, and official bag-check bag that you can use to check your race-day clothing, all at the Popular® Brooklyn Half Pre-Party Presented by New Balance on May 13, 14 and 15. The Pre-Party will have a new location in 2020; stay tuned for more details.
There will be no race-day bib pickup.
Start near the Brooklyn Museum and run past the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and around Grand Army Plaza before entering Prospect Park. After a loop around the
park, exit from the southwest corner onto Ocean Parkway and cruise toward the world-famous Coney Island for a triumphant finish on the boardwalk.
The NYRR Pace Team Presented by Biofreeze, wearing their green-and-blue-chevron design singlets, will run even splits through all 13.1 miles of the Popular® Brooklyn Half. Pacers will run starting at 6:06 per mile, or a 1:20 finish time to 13:45 per mile, or 3:00 finish time. Check back closer to race day for information about where to find NYRR Pace Team Presented by Biofreeze leaders on race day.
Awards will be available to the top three men and women overall, as well as in age and gender groups as explained in this article. A list of all award winners will be posted in the results for each race.
Award winners who wish to receive an award plaque should complete our online claim form.
To be eligible for NYRR member prize money, participants must have an active NYRR membership for six months prior to race day.
Athletes who have been suspended for doping by a governing body are not eligible to participate in, and should not apply for entry in, NYRR races. Extenuating circumstances may be reviewed by the NYRR Race Director.
