About

Celebrate a running pioneer and run the Virtual NYRR Ted Corbitt 15K Powered by Strava, anytime and anyplace you wish, between November 30 and December 6. This race honors Ted Corbitt (1919–2007), the first president of New York Road Runners, the first African American to compete in the Olympic marathon, and an ultramarathon pioneer who ran more than 200,000 miles in his lifetime!

All registrants will be emailed a printable, personalized bib to wear for their virtual race. Follow and use #TedCorbitt15K in your social posts to share your progress and celebrate Ted Corbitt.

At this time, all runners should protect their health and safety and that of others by social distancing while running. NYRR Racing App

We are excited to announce our new virtual racing premium experience, the NYRR Racing app. NYRR Racing will track your virtual race via GPS technology and display where you are on the NYRR Ted Corbitt 15K course. You can also race your fellow virtual runners in real time and have friends and family track your progress. Once you finish your race, you’ll be prompted to upload the run to your Strava profile to officially complete the virtual race via the Strava app. During registration, select the Premium race type to get access to this unique virtual racing experience. A virtual race is a race that can be run at your convenience during a specified period of time. To participate in NYRR Volvo Virtual Racing Powered by Strava, create your free Strava account, sign up for a race, and run or walk the distance of the race on a course you select wherever you are.
