Virtual NYRR Run for Thanks 5K

Runners must complete the full 5-kilometer distance in a single run activity during one calendar day and upload the activity to Strava. Please note: Your activity must be a GPS upload. Manual uploads, treadmill runs, and activities where friends have “tagged” you are not supported and will not be counted toward your result. 

Runners who previously had or currently have a Strava subscription cannot redeem a 30-day trial. Runners cannot redeem a Strava subscription trial more than once on their account. Learn more on Strava’s website.

While general entry is free, you can also purchase entry for this race to begin or to continue your journey to earning guaranteed, non-complimentary entry to the 2025 RBC Brooklyn Half as part of the NYRR Virtual 6 program. Read more about the NYRR Virtual 6 program here.

NYRR’s 2024 9+1 Program offers members guaranteed, non-complimentary entry to the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon. You can complete the program in 2024 by registering for and completing NYRR in-person and virtual 9+1 qualifying races, volunteering at one +1 qualifying event and ensuring that your NYRR membership is active as of December 31, 2024.

This virtual race is one of three designated virtual races that is a 9+1 program qualifier. To earn a 9+1 credit for this virtual race, select the “Premium” tier during registration.

A virtual race is a race that can be run at your convenience during a specified period of time.
