Make a post-finish plan for race day and be aware that cellular saturation may prevent you from using your phone in and around the post-finish area. If you’re meeting friends and family, have a meeting location outside of the runners-only area. Your friends and family can track you using the TCS New York City Marathon App Powered by Tata Consultancy Services (available in mid-October).
Runners will exit Central Park at West 77th Street; MarathonFoto will take pictures and video of all finishers after they exit on Central Park West. Once on Central Park West, you may exit the runners-only area at West 76th Street, West 74th Street, or West 69th Street, or continue south to Family Reunion.
If you pre-checked a bag, you will retrieve your bag on Central Park West between West 69th Street and West 72nd Street. Starting at 7:00 p.m., unclaimed bags will be at West Drive and the 72nd Street Cross Drive in Central Park; they will be removed after 8:00 p.m. and will be available on Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the NYRR RUNCENTER.
To support nursing athletes, NYRR is aiming to enhance the lactation experience for runners and remove the barrier to allow full participation and success for parents in sports. For the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon, there will be private and dedicated lactation spaces that provide pumping accommodations and amenities at the start and finish lines and along the marathon course at miles 8, 17, and 22. Medela hand pumps will be available, giving participants easy options for pumping. As in previous years, NYRR will transport personal nursing pumps from the start to the finish area for athletes. Please note, at this time, NYRR is unable to transport breast milk for participants. Learn more here about how NYRR worked with &Mother to elevate the lactation experience at the TCS New York City Marathon in November 2022.
