Donn Cabral
NYRR member Donn Cabral is the three-time defending champion in the NYRR Dash to the Finish Line 5K, having won the 2016 edition of the event in a time of 14:18. He also crossed the line 12th in the New Balance Fifth Avenue Mile that same year.
Most recently, Cabral represented the U.S. at the 2016 Rio Olympics in the 3000m steeplechase, finishing in eighth place. Cabral previously competed in the 2012 London Olympics, also finishing eighth.
A native of Glastonbury, CT, Cabral attended Princeton University where he claimed titles for their cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field programs. During his collegiate running career, Cabral was a two-time cross country NCAA All-American, an indoor NCAA All-American in the 5000m, and a five-time outdoor NCAA All-American in the 5000m and 3000m Steeplechase. He set the American collegiate record in the steeplechase while wearing Tiger orange and black.
