Estado de la situación de NYRR y respuestas a sus preguntas

Ever wonder what New York Road Runners is up to behind the scenes? This week’s podcast episode of Set the Pace Presented by Peloton gives insight into NYRR’s state of the union while also providing answers to questions from the running community.
You Asked, Rob Answers
At the end of last year, we asked the running community to submit questions about New York Road Runners. We received some great questions, so thanks to those who submitted questions for Rob Simmelkjaer, CEO of New York Road Runners, to answer on air during this week’s episode. Some of you asked why NYRR isn’t allowing more runners to sold-out races, especially the TCS New York City Marathon. Others wanted to know why NYRR no longer puts on a 60K in Central Park and country-focused events like the Italy Run and the Japan Run.

A Quick Recap of 2024
In addition to the Q&A, Rob recaps key moments of 2024, including issuing a reimagined mission and vision statement, having record-number finishers at the TCS New York City Marathon and other marquee races, and launching the new NYRR Team for Climate to expand on sustainability goals. NYRR also added a new race, the NYRR Mindful 5K, and other resources around mental health and well-being to offer support to the community. Plus, with new NYRR member-exclusive events, including the inaugural Member Week, and more opportunities for members to get guaranteed entry to sold-out races and a second chance to enter the TCS New York City Marathon lottery, membership numbers soared from previous years.

What’s New for 2025
Looking ahead, Rob talks about how technology is a big focus as NYRR launches an updated registration platform very soon with a more efficient experience of signing up for races and works on a new year-round app for tracking runners seamlessly. We’re also going to bring more programing back to the NYRR RUNCENTER featuring the New Balance Run Hub such as hosting fitness classes and more panel events and expanding race week programing during big race weekends like the United Airlines NYC Half and the RBC Brooklyn Half.
