Young Runners

Young Runners uses a team-based structure to help kids learn valuable lessons about how to set goals and make activity part of their daily lives. With the help of their coaches, students learn to run distances from 1 to 4 miles. While physically challenging, the Young Runners program is designed for children of all fitness and athletic levels in grades 3-12.

NYRR provides Young Runners for free to all New York City public schools. It is also available for free to youth clubs and before- and after-school programs in underserved communities.

Tata Consultancy Services is a partner of NYRR's Young Runners program.

Going the Extra Mile at MS 293M

As Young Runners at MS 293M City College Academy for the Arts geared up for their first timed mile challenge of the year, classmates lined the road to cheer them on every step of the way.
