Coach Heather loves everything about distance running: the glory, the pain, the elation, the occasional despair. A veteran recreational runner, she’s been running for over 20 years. Heather has completed 12 marathons, over 60 half marathons, and hundreds of other races. She holds certifications through both the RRCA & USAT&F. A life-long student, she is constantly continuing her study of the sport. Heather loves helping athletes of all levels reach their goals, but more importantly, she loves sharing her passion for the sport and watching new runners get hooked. When she’s not running or coaching, she’s singing, teaching music, timing an NYRR race, or planning her next half marathon.
Where is your favorite place to run in New York City?
Everywhere! I love exploring all of the nooks and crannies of this great city while running. But there’s no place in the world like Central Park.
What is your favorite NYRR race?
This is an impossible question! The NYC Marathon is unforgettable, and the best marathon in the world. Same for the Brooklyn Half Marathon. But my favorite annual race is the NYRR Mini 10K. All women, lead by pro-runners, in June in Central Park, a rich and important history…. what could be better?
What is your personal running motto?
Find your best self through running!
