Alberto Paderi started running in 2008 at the age of 49 by joining NYRR classes, just hoping to lose 45 pounds. Instead, it was love at first sight. He started racing a few months later and after 18 months of training, he qualified for Boston at the Paris Marathon.
Since then, he has run approximately 100 races at many distances, between the 5th Ave Mile and 50-mile ultras on trails. Alberto has also run 10 marathons including New York City, Chicago, Boston (three times), and Berlin.
He is a USATF- and RRCA-certified coach. All of his PRs were run after the age of 50 and include a 3:13 marathon (Berlin), a 1:27 half-marathon (NYC Half), and 24:16 for four miles.
