Kids are invited to conquer the Coney Island boardwalk on May 18 with Rising New York Road Runners at the Popular® Brooklyn Half. This one-of-a-kind event takes place in the heart of Coney Island and is open to Stage 2 and 3 participants. The event will feature an unforgettable one-mile run on the boardwalk that starts and finishes at the Popular® Brooklyn Half finish line.

Kids Can Visit the Intrepid Museum for Free
On event days, your child’s Rising New York Road Runners bib will get them free admission to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, with the purchase of a full-priced adult ticket. Just present your race bib at the Intrepid’s box office to receive this offer.
Popular® Brooklyn Half Pre-Party Presented by New Balance
Before race day, pick up your race materials, including your bib (which includes your timing tag), at the Popular® Brooklyn Half Pre-Party Presented by New Balance. Your New Balance souvenir hat will be available for pickup only on race day and are subject to availability.
The Pre-Party will have a new location in 2019:

Show the QR code from your confirmation email or your NYRR account to pick up your materials. Please pick up during the week to avoid crowds on event day. Race-day pickup is available at Surf Avenue and 15th Street from 10:00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.
The out-and-back course will start and finish at the Popular® Brooklyn Half finish line, with a turnaround point at the halfway mark on the Coney Island Boardwalk.

As we continue to celebrate New York Road Runners’ 60th anniversary, Peter Ciaccia, president of events of NYRR and race director of the TCS New York City Marathon, takes a trip back to the 37 years of the hip Brooklyn Half. Excitement builds for this year’s race on May 19 with the addition of new title sponsor Popular Bank.
