Laura Galván Mexico

Laura Galván is a two-time Olympian from Mexico who holds national records in the 1,500 meters, 3,000 meters, 5,000 meters, and 5,000 meters. In 2019 she won gold in the 5,000 meters at the Pan American Games and earned a silver in the 10,000 meters at the 2023 Pan American Games.

 

Galván represented Mexico at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in the 1,500 and 5,000 meters and at the Paris 2024 Olympics in the 5,000 meters.

 

She made her New York Road Runners racing debut in 2023, placing third at the Mastercard New York Mini 10K. 

 

Originally from the small town of Guanajuato, Mexico, Galván was recruited to run at Kansas State University and quickly became one of the top runners in school history. She qualified for the NCAA Cross Country Championships in 2012 and 2014.
