AlertDon't miss the July 31 deadline to make your TCS New York City Marathon baggage and transportation selections.

1. Getting Started

As a Young Runners coach, you are in charge of the overall administration of the program at your site. NYRR assigns one of our Field Coordinators to assist you, and the Field Coordinator is your main point of contact with us. Every year, at the beginning of your Young Runners season, we will send you a kit to help you get up and running.

New Young Runners

As a new site, you will receive a Young Runners Start-Up Kit that includes:

  • Flash drive containing participant release forms, goal sheets, and spreadsheets for tracking student progress
  • 10 flyers to recruit kids
  • 1 measuring wheel
  • 1 clipboard
  • 1 stopwatch
  • 1 whistle
  • 4 batons
  • 10 cones
  • 1 first-aid kit
  • Incentive samples including: patches, a T-shirt, and a bag

If any of these items are missing from your kit, contact your Field Coordinator or write us at youngrunners@nyrr.org.

Returning Young Runners

Returning sites will receive a Renewal Kit that includes:

  • Flash drive containing participant release forms, goal sheets, and spreadsheets for tracking student progress
  • 10 additional recruitment flyers
  • Copy of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

Replacement Items

Equipment from your original Start-Up Kit should last a few years, but if you need a replacement item such as a clipboard, first-aid kit, or measuring wheel, contact your Field Coordinator. If you cannot locate your Field Coordinator's e-mail, contact us at youngrunners@nyrr.org.
