Site Coordinator Christine McGuire has 325 Mighty Milers in grades 1–5 at Woodrow Elementary in Modesto, CA. “Our kids run every day,” she said. “Student Fitness Leaders help out, and they go out to a year-end lunch where they also learn about healthy eating.”

Mighty Milers awards are broadcast during morning announcements, and Principal Vickie Briscoe delivers awards personally to students in their classrooms. 

Mighty Milers changes lives! “We had a student whose weight made her reluctant to run,” Christine said. “But eventually she really got into it, and inspired her entire family to start running with her!”
