Teachers, principals, parents, and community leaders are the backbone of NYRR’s youth programs. We are thrilled to have these dedicated partners. Their enthusiasm and hard work pay off in healthier, happier kids. Children’s Fitness Champion awards are a way to honor educators whose efforts have transformed their school’s culture and created a better future for all their students.

In the spring of 2009 we selected our inaugural class of leaders who reside in our Hall of Champions. These fourteen recipients are a model group of members who set the benchmark for years to come in what we plan to be a National Association of Champions.

Nominate your principal or director as a 2013 Children's Fitness Champion! The Torchbearer Award is for leaders who go above and beyond to support your Mighty Milers or Young Runners program. The application will be posted in February 2013.
