NYRR Running Classes

Group workouts can help you run farther and faster—plus, they're just plain fun! With eight different ability levels, from beginner to super-advanced competitive runner, you’ll find the right fit. During the 10-week sessions you’ll do a variety of coached workouts and enjoy the camaraderie and safety of group running. Classes include steady-paced runs, speed training, intervals, hills, fartlek, and tempo runs.

Classes are led by experienced group coaches who are trained and supervised by head coaches Bob and Shelly Glover. As the founder and director of NYRR Running Classes, Bob Glover has taught thousands of runners of all levels; Shelly Glover is an exercise physiologist. The Glovers have co-authored several best-selling books, including The Runner’s Handbook and The Competitive Runner’s Handbook.

Running Class Registration
2015 SESSIONS

Classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 10-week periods, starting on the dates and at the times listed below. Select a specific level and day (Tuesday, Thursday, or both) when preregistering. You may only attend the nights for which you register. Please note that class registration will close when capacity is reached. A print version of the 2015 NYRR Running Classes application will be available soon.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Location
Classes meet at P.S. 6, located on East 81st Street between Park and Madison Avenues, and then go outdoors for workouts (usually in nearby Central Park). Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and close at 8:30 p.m. Please enter using the middle door on East 81st Street.

What to Wear/What to Bring
Come dressed to run. There is limited space in restrooms for changing. Clothing and valuables may be stored in a monitored area. No headphones or strollers.

Fees
The fee is for a 10-week session, one class per week:
NYRR members $105
Non-members $125

The fee is for a 10-week session, two classes per week:
NYRR Members $180
Non-Members $250

There is a $5 discount per session if registering for two or more sessions at once.
