Why do your long runs alone in the same park or neighborhood when you can explore a different part of New York and meet new running buddies? From the Brooklyn Bridge to the top of the Bronx, from the Palisades to Thompson Park, get ready to log your miles in a fun new way!
Sign up for one of our NYRR Weekend Destination Long Runs, where NYRR coaches will guide runners through a variety of running spots throughout the Tri-State area. Join one of three pace groups (8:30, 9:30, and 10:30 per mile) as you set off to explore some new terrain. Each run is approximately 14-16 miles.
Buses to the destinations leave from the NYRR RUNCENTER featuring the NB Run Hub at 7:00 a.m., and return bus service is provided, all for only $10.
Palisades Interstate Park (Alpine, NJ)
Connetquot River State Park Preserve (Islip, NY)
Harriman State Park (Sloatsburg, NY)
Although we wish we could accommodate a wider range of paces, our priority is keeping runners safe and together on the roads since they are not closed to traffic like a typical race. This unfortunately means minimizing the pace spread from front to back of pack.
There will be a sweeper coach/bike at the rear of the group in case anyone should fall back, but we do not encourage you to sign up if you know you'll be running slower than 11 minutes per mile.
