JUNE 2008 RUNNING

Highlights for JUNE, 2008 include:

• New York Road Runners professional racing stokes the competitive fires of the world's best in the Healthy Kidney 10K presented by the United Arab Emirates.
• It's a grand slam for everyone in the Bridgeport Hospital Home Run 5K, with kids racing on the warning track at Bridgeport Bluefish Stadium.
• Flat and fast the Newport 10,000 in Jersey City is a personal record course with great vistas and a festive atmosphere.
• The Boston Marathon's classic course showcased the closest finish in the history of the women's division followed by a field of over 25,000.
• From Coney Island and the boardwalk to Prospect Park, runners took charge in the New York Road Runners Half-Marathon Grand Prix Series, Brooklyn, presented by Continental Airlines.
• New York Junior League's Race to Erase Domestic Violence brings out the young and old and everyone in between for a four miler, a ten miler and a kids fun run.
• Boston Billy Rodgers earned his 1975 Boston Marathon laurel wreath with an American and course record performance.
