| July 24, 2010 On a day when NYC temperatures reached the high 90s, with a heat index in the triple digits, the Queens Half drew thousands of courageous runners to a beautiful new course in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. The race was the third in the NYRR Half-Marathon Series Presented by Continental Airlines. The flat course would have translated to fast times in cooler and less humid conditions; as it was, most of the 3,668 finishers chose to put safety and fun first and to save the fast times for later. The winners, in dominating fashion, were Michael Dixon in 1:14:00 and Reilly Kiernan in 1:23:43. Congratulations to all--and thank you for running with NYRR on a day that tested the best of us! |
