NYRR Fred Lebow Classic

January 10, 2009

The 2009 NYRR racing season opened on Saturday, January 10, with the Fred Lebow Classic, a five-mile race on the roads of Central Park. The race honors Fred Lebow (1932–1994), the NYRR president who masterminded the five-borough New York City Marathon, the women’s NYRR New York Mini 10K, the NYRR Empire State Building Run-Up, and many more innovative and now world-famous events.

The commemorative T-shirt would be a useful layer on this sub-freezing morning in Central Park.
