NYRR Dash 10K

June 13, 2009 [Results]
It was a great Saturday morning to run a 10K in Central Park. Runners who took on the NYRR Dash defied the humid conditions and beat the sporadic weekend rain. As the sun shone, finishers enjoyed the company of thousands. The frozen fruit bars tasted great after 6.2 miles of running!

Friends met on the grass to catch up before the 9:00 a.m. run.


Thing One and Thing Two showed up, but where was the Cat in the Hat?


Kyoungi Park and Ayumi Suzuki wished each other luck before the race.


They were off—thousands of men and women ready to run!


Lucimar Araujo of Kew Gardens was glad to be out on the course.


Visitors to NYC were amazed by the lushness of the park.


Kimberly Roberts crossed the river from Brooklyn to participate.


Thomas Galan, also a Brooklynite, was proud to represent his borough.


Paul Mojaven from Oakland Gardens was prepared for the warm weather.


Some friends who run together, finish together: 53:48 at the line.


Staying motivated was key; finishing side-by-side in 1:06:36 was perfect.


Paul Martelletti of England broke the tape in 32:02.


Local Jillian Mastroianni led the way for the women in 37:36.


Almost there—the crowd cheered runners to the finish line.


Feeling fine, Fay Bou finished in 47:38.


Another successful pair kept each other on pace!


Sharing a fruit bar with a friend was a good post-race plan.


The day was about catching up with old friends…


…and celebrating together after the race.


On this day, the fruit bars couldn’t have tasted better.
