Women flocked to Central Park for the 37th running of the NYRR New York Mini 10K.


This race, which started in 1972, will be around for generations to come.


Friends met at Columbus Circle before the start to plan their race strategy—and a meeting spot for brunch afterward.

The field of more than 4,100 started on Central Park West and ran north before entering Central Park.

Hilda Kibet, the 2008 NYRR New York Mini 10K champion, greeted the crowd in the flag of the Netherlands; she became a Dutch citizen this year.
