| Sunday, September 21, was a picturesque day for racing down Manhattan’s most famous thoroughfare. More than 3,000 runners waved farewell to the summer racing season at the Continental Airlines Fifth Avenue Mile start. Separated into heats that included the NYRR Road Mile Championships and professional races for men and women, participants, as young as eight and as old as 98, gave it their all in the shortest race on the NYRR calendar. |
