Half-Marathon

Jody Hawkins
Age: 41
Residence: Frisco, TX

Jody Hawkins was one of America’s best distance runners in the mid-1990s. She represented the United States at the 1998 IAAF World Half-Marathon Championships in Zurich, where she ran her PR of 1:12:38. Her running career was stalled by osteoporosis brought on by the rigors of military training in the Army’s World Class Athlete Program. Only recently back to good health, Hawkins won the 2008 USA Masters Cross Country title. She is making her first appearance at the More Magazine Half-Marathon.

Lynn Jennings is one of the greatest runners the United States has ever produced. She also won two medals at the IAAF World Indoor Championships 3000 meters: bronze in 1993 and silver in 1995. Jennings is still the American 10K road record-holder (31:06), and she won seven national 10,000-meter titles, nine national cross country titles, and eight national road 5K titles. At the 2006 More Magazine Marathon + Half-Marathon, she made her first appearance at a running event since retiring in 1998, and she returned in 2007.
