More than 15 years since Fred Lebow’s passing, New York-area runners pay tribute to the co-founder of the New York City Marathon with this annual cross country event.

Location

Sign in and registration at the Tortoise and Hare statue, 248th Street and Broadway until 11:15 a.m. Bathroom facilities are available here. If traveling by bus or subway, please check www.mta.info for any service advisories affecting your plans.

Directions

By subway: Take the northbound IRT #1 train to 242nd Street (the last stop). Exit at the front of the station and walk north. If traveling by bus or subway, check www.mta.info for any service advisories affecting your plans.

By car: Take the Major Deegan to the Van Cortlandt Park South exit. Drive west to Broadway, and then north to 252nd Street. Park on Broadway (please do not double park). For a minimal fee, additional parking is available in the parking lot behind the stadium, by the Van Cortlandt Park South exit.

Awards

Awards will be given to the top overall male and female finishers and to places 1-3 in the following age groups: 12-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80+.

Race Scoring

This race is timed using the ChronoTrack timing system. Each runner will wear a timing device on their shoe that will be read by mats at the start and finish. The timing device will be a tag that you will receive attached to your race number. You must remove the tag from your number and attach it to your shoe prior to the race, following the instructions that you will receive with the tag. The tag is disposable; it will not be collected after the race. For additional information from ChronoTrack, please click here. Baggage Facilities

Free baggage facilities will be provided as a convenience. If you are planning to use this baggage service, bring an inexpensive bag and leave your valuables at home. New York Road Runners is not responsible for lost or stolen items.


Lost and Found

The Lost and Found is located in the volunteer tent on race day. Items can also be turned-in or claimed at NYRR's front desk on the next business day following the race.


Rules of Competition

All NYRR races are organized and directed under USA Track & Field rules and regulations. Entrants must also comply with City of New York, Parks & Recreation and NYRR rules. Failure to do so may result in offenders being disqualified and possibly banned from NYRR events, including the ING New York City Marathon. [Click here for rules.]

Babystrollers / Babyjoggers are not permitted on the race course.
