Course
5K: Head north along Edgecombe Ave. At 141st Street, bear right onto Bradhurst Ave. Turn left (West) at 145th Street. Turn right (North) back onto Edgecombe Ave. At 155th Street, take sharp left (south) onto St. Nicholas Place. Turn right (west) on 150th Street. Turn left (south) onto Convent Ave. Turn left (east) onto St. Nicholas Terrace. Proceed straight (south) along top of St. Nicholas Park. Turn left (east) on 127th Street. Turn left (north) on St. Nicholas Ave. Proceed straight (north) on St. Nicholas Ave, alongside St. Nicholas Park.
Walk: Distance Approximately 2 Miles
Start: Edgecombe Avenue between 135th and 136th Streets.
Finish: St. Nicholas Ave. between 135th Street and 136th Street.

Number Pickup / Registration
Entrants are required to pick up their numbers, scoring chips, and race souvenirs in advance. Materials make be picked up at the Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. State Office Building, 163 W. 125th Street (at 7th Ave. on the street-level promenade), on:
• Thursday, August 20, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
• Friday, August 21, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
Near the start, in the schoolyard behind Bread & Roses High School (Edgecombe Avenue between 135th and 136th Streets), on Saturday, August 22:
• 5K Race: 7:00-8:00 a.m.
• Health Walk: 7:00-9:00 a.m.
"Relieve the Stress" Sessions
Join walkers, runners, and other health-minded people at four “Relieve the Stress” sessions at Harlem parks in advance of the August 22 Percy Sutton Harlem 5K Run/NYC Family Health Walk-A-Thon.
The sessions take place from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., and are free and require no pre-registration. [Learn More]
Event Activities
Celebrate historic Harlem Week and Harlem Healthy Living along with elected, government, and university representatives in the parks along the course. Activities include free health screenings, career opportunities, and entertainment in St. Nicholas Park.

[Scoring and results procedures]
This is a scored race that counts toward the nine races NYRR members as of January 2009 need to be eligible for guaranteed entry to the ING New York City Marathon 2010.
Baggage Facilities
Free baggage facilities will be provided as a convenience. If you are planning to use this baggage service, bring an inexpensive bag and leave your valuables at home. New York Road Runners is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Rules of Competition
All NYRR races are organized and directed under USA Track & Field rules and regulations. Entrants must also comply with City of New York, Parks & Recreation and NYRR rules. Failure to do so may result in offenders being disqualified and possibly banned from NYRR events, including the ING New York City Marathon. [Click here for rules.]
