Join the fight against lung cancer by running this 4-mile race or walking 1.3 miles to honor former Chase Manhattan Bank chairman and nonsmoker Tom Labrecque. Join JP Morgan Chase to "run as one" and raise money to support the cause. Post race and children's activities follow the event!

Course

All courses are subject to change. Check back here the day before the race for final confirmation.

4-Mile: Start on Central Park 's East Drive near 68th Street. Head north on East Drive and continue to the 102nd Street Transverse. Turn left/west across the transverse and then left/south on West Drive. Continue south to the 72nd Street Transverse, turning left/east to the finish line.

Health Walk: Start on Central Park 's East Drive near 68th Street. Head south on East Drive and continue around the lower end of the park to the 72nd Street Transverse. Turn right/east to the finish line.

Number Pickup /Registration

Entrants are required to pick up their numbers, scoring chips, and race souvenirs at New York Road Runners (9 East 89th Street) on:

• Thursday, April 16, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
• Friday, April 17, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
• Saturday, April 18, 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

On race day, Sunday, April 19, number pickup/registration will be from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. (4-mile run) and 7:50 to 8:50 a.m. (1.3-mile health walk) at the registration tent by the Central Park Bandshell (mid-park, just south of the 72nd Street Transverse).

Post Race

Enjoy food, music, children's activities, and more at Rumsey Playfield after the race. Please join us there for the awards ceremony for the 4-mile run as well. Awards will be given in all NYRR running categories. [Awards Breakdown]

Prize Money

Prize money will be awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers. 1st Place: $1,000; 2nd Place: $600; 3rd Place: $400.

Race Scoring

This is a scored 4-mile run that counts toward the nine races NYRR members as of January 2009 need to be eligible for guaranteed entry to the ING New York City Marathon 2010. The race is timed using the ChampionChip® system. You must complete the race with your chip attached to your shoe or your time will not be recorded. Please follow the instructions in your race packet on attaching the chip to your shoe and then returning the chip following the race. Note that you will be charged $35 if you do not return the chip within 20 days.

Baggage Facilities

Free baggage facilities will be provided as a convenience. If you are planning to use this baggage service, bring an inexpensive bag and leave your valuables at home. New York Road Runners is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Rules of Competition

All NYRR races are organized and directed under USA Track & Field rules and regulations. Entrants must also comply with City of New York, Parks & Recreation and NYRR rules. Failure to do so may result in offenders being disqualified and possibly banned from NYRR events, including the ING New York City Marathon. [Click here for rules.]
