City Parks Foundation Run for the Parks 4M/Kids' Races

Think and run green in this 4-mile race that supports City Parks Foundation (CPF). Proceeds from the day benefit CPF's free citywide programs. You can bring the whole family to participate in the kids' races and have fun at the post-race reception. What's the ideal location for your Sunday run? Central Park, of course.

Course

All courses are subject to change. Check back here the day before the race for final confirmation.

Start on East Drive near 68th Street and head north. Turn left/west onto the 102nd Street Transverse and then left/south on West Drive. Continue to the 72nd Street Transverse, turning left/east to the finish line.

Number Pickup /Registration

Entrants are required to pick up their numbers, scoring chips, and race souvenirs at New York Road Runners (9 East 89th Street) on:

• Thursday, April 2, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
• Friday, April 3, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
• Saturday, April 4, 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

On race day, Sunday, April 5, pickup/registration will be from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. (4-mile race) and from 7:30-8:30 a.m. (kids' races) at the registration tent by the Central Park Bandshell (mid-park, just south of the 72nd Street Transverse).

Please note that kids' races registration and number pickup will close at 8:30 a.m. on race morning. No children’s bibs will be issued after that time. Kids' races will start promptly at 9:00 a.m.

Participant Photography

Race Scoring

This is a scored race that counts toward the nine races NYRR members as of January 2009 need to be eligible for guaranteed entry to the ING New York City Marathon 2010. The race is timed using the ChampionChip® system. You must complete the race with your chip attached to your shoe or your time will not be recorded. Please follow the instructions in your race packet on attaching the chip to your shoe and then returning the chip following the race. Note that you will be charged $35 if you do not return the chip within 20 days.

Baggage Facilities

Free baggage facilities will be provided as a convenience. If you are planning to use this baggage service, bring an inexpensive bag and leave your valuables at home. New York Road Runners is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Rules of Competition

All NYRR races are organized and directed under USA Track & Field rules and regulations. Entrants must also comply with City of New York, Parks & Recreation and NYRR rules. Failure to do so may result in offenders being disqualified and possibly banned from NYRR events, including the ING New York City Marathon. [Click here for rules.]
