Come out for the run and be inspired by Al Gordon, a 107-year-old NYRR board member and benefactor. Afterward, head to nearby Park Slope for brunch!

Course

The race will start on East Drive inside Prospect Park just north of Center Drive. Continue north on East until you reach West Drive. Turn left/west onto West Drive and continue until you reach Wellhouse Drive. Turn left/east onto Wellhouse Drive and continue until East Drive. Turn left/north on East Drive and make an immediate left/west onto Center Drive to finish.

Number Pickup /Registration Info

Entrants are required to pick up their numbers, scoring chips, and race souvenirs at New York Road Runners (9 East 89th Street) on:

• Thursday, February 19, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
• Friday, February 20, 1:00-7:00 p.m.

On race day at P.S. 154, on Windsor Place and 11th Avenue:
• Saturday, February 21 - 7:30-8:30 a.m.

Directions by Subway

• Take the Q or S (Franklin Ave Shuttle) to Prospect Park and walk west to the start on East Drive and Center Drive.
• Take the 2/3 to Grand Army Plaza and walk south to start.
• Take the F to 15th Street-Prospect Park and head south toward Center Drive. Turn east/left on Center Drive to start at East Drive and Center Drive.

Note: The B train does not run on weekends

Post-Race

Results, bagels, fruit, and water will be distributed on site after the race. Awards can be picked up at NYRR. [Awards breakdown]

Race Scoring

This is a scored race that counts toward the nine races NYRR members as of January 2009 need to be eligible for guaranteed entry to the ING New York City Marathon 2010. The race is timed using the ChampionChip® system. You must complete the race with your chip attached to your shoe or your time will not be recorded. Please follow the instructions in your race packet on attaching the chip to your shoe and then returning the chip following the race. Note that you will be charged $35 if you do not return the chip within 20 days.

Baggage Facilities

Free baggage facilities will be provided as a convenience. If you are planning to use this baggage service, bring an inexpensive bag and leave your valuables at home. New York Road Runners is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Rules of Competition

All NYRR races are organized and directed under USA Track & Field rules and regulations. Entrants must also comply with City of New York, Parks & Recreation and NYRR rules. Failure to do so may result in offenders being disqualified and possibly banned from NYRR events, including the ING New York City Marathon. [Click here for rules.]
