NYRR and Front Runners - a running club for lesbians, gay men and supportive others - team up for the 27th time to produce the annual Pride Run, a five-mile race in Central Park. With prize money offered for top male and female finishers, this race draws some of the best competition in town. Whether you're a top racer in it for the fantastic prize money or a novice looking for a healthy run and some camaraderie, the Pride Run delivers the goods.
ChronoTrack Timing System
NYRR will be testing the ChronoTrack timing system at the Front Runners New York Lesbian and Gay Pride Run. This system is similar to the ChampionChip system normally used in NYRR races in that each runner will wear a timing device on their shoe that will be “read” by mats at the start and finish. However, the timing device will be a tag that you will receive attached to your bib number. You must remove the tag from your number and attach it to your shoe prior to the race, following the instructions that you will receive with the bib. The tag is disposable; it will not be collected after the race. All participants in this race must wear the tag in order to have their times recorded. Even if you own a ChampionChip, you must run with the special tag for this race, as no ChampionChip timing equipment will be used at this race.
