Raring to go from the start were the ladies of the Nike Central Park Track Club (CPTC) and the New York Athletic Club (NYAC).

Soon after the horn, it was follow-the-leader, as Atalelech Ketema, Westchester Track Club (WTC), pulled ahead.

Julia Stamps, NYAC, and Aileen Conlon, CPTC, pulled ahead of the pack to chase down Ketema.

Refusing to let up, Ketema widened the gap.

Ketema raged up the hills…

…securing her position as the leader…

…and breaking the tape in 27:59.

NYAC’s Catherine Mullen took third place in 28:41.

The second WTC finisher, Emily Chelanga, placed fourth overall in 28:51.

Kathryn Boyles, 28:56, put Urban Athletics on the top-10 list.

The third NYAC teammate to cross the finish, Arianne Field, completed the course in 29 flat.

Katy Masselam, CPTC, finished four seconds behind Field.

Katrina Bruckschwaiger, CPTC, barreled towards the finish and placed ninth in 29:05.

Kate Irvin, CPTC, finished in 29:18, helping her team earn the most appearances in the top 10.

No stranger to finishing among the top 20 in NYRR races, Kelly Chin, Moving Comfort NY (MCNY), made a strong showing in 29:22.

Lauren Esposito, CPTC, averaged a 5:55 per-mile pace, crossing the finish line in 29:37.

Inspired by her male teammates’ second-place standing, Laura Turner, The Running Company (RUNC), finished strong in 29:44.

Jane Maxwell, NYAC, made the under-30-minute mark in 29:54.

Christine Glockenmeier, 29:55, was the first Warren Street woman to cross the finish line.

Rondi Davies, MCNY, finished fourth in her age group in 30:54.

Following in her teammates’ strong performances, Cindy Pomeroy, WTC, pulled in a 31:01 finish.

Hermela Romero, West Side Runners (WSX), held on to a 6:20-per mile pace to complete the race in 31:41.

Lilian Kroner, WSX, crossed the finish line seven seconds after Romero in 31:48.

Charlotte Matthews, New York Harriers, was the 49th woman to finish, in 31:49.
