Course

All courses are subject to change. Check back here the day before the race for final confirmation.

Start on Central Park’s 102nd Street Transverse, midway between East and West Drive. Head west on the transverse and left/south onto West Drive. At the 72nd Street Transverse, turn left/east, and continue left/north on East Drive, turning left/west onto the 102nd Street Transverse to the finish.

Number Pickup /Registration

Entrants are required to pick up their numbers, scoring chips, and race souvenirs in advance. Materials may be picked up at NYRR, 9 East 89th Street, on:

• Thursday, December 13, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
• Friday, December 14, 1:00-7:00 p.m
• Saturday, December 15, 8:00-9:00 a.m.

If checking in on race day, be sure to allow yourself enough time to get to the start. Please note that race day registration and check-in will be held exclusively at the NYRR offices at 9 East 89th Street. There will be no registration or check-in at the race location. Souvenirs may also be picked up after the race at NYRR while supplies last.

Post Race

Join us outdoors after the race on Central Park's 102nd Street Transverse for hot chocolate and bagels. Awards may be picked up at NYRR beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 17 in all applicable NYRR age categories. [Awards breakdown]

Kids Play Party

Ages 2-8 years old - 8:00-9:00 a.m.

Location: P.S. 171 (19 East 103rd Street between Madison and Fifth Avenues).

Activities: Arts and crafts, holiday treats and surprises.

Important note: All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while attending the play party.

Race Scoring

This is a scored race that counts toward the nine races NYRR members as of January 2007 need to be eligible for guaranteed entry to the ING New York City Marathon 2008. The race is timed using the ChampionChip® system. You must complete the race with your chip attached to your shoe or your time will not be recorded. Please follow the instructions in your race packet on attaching the chip to your shoe and then returning the chip following the race. Note that you will be charged $35 if you do not return the chip within 20 days.

Baggage Facilities

Free baggage facilities will be provided as a convenience. If using this baggage service, bring an inexpensive bag and leave your valuables at home. New York Road Runners is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Rules of Competition

All NYRR races are organized and directed under USA Track & Field rules and regulations. Entrants must also comply with City of New York, Parks & Recreation and NYRR rules. Failure to do so may result in offenders being disqualified and possibly banned from NYRR events, including the ING New York City Marathon. [Click here for rules.]
