Scotland Run - Sunday, April 1 / Central Park, New York / 10:00 a.m. / 10K (6.2 Miles)

Come celebrate Tartan Week, a weeklong celebration of Scottish culture, when Scotland comes to New York with this 10K. Run to the beat of bagpipes and drums as you loop through Central Park. Participants and spectators will enjoy plenty of pipes, drums, Scots, and kilts.

Course

All courses are subject to change. Check back here the day before the race for final confirmation.

Start on Central Park's West Drive at 62nd Street. Head North on West Drive and complete one full loop of the park. Continue to the finish on West Drive adjacent to Tavern on the Green.

Number Pickup /Registration

Entrants are required to pick up their numbers, scoring chips, and race souvenirs at New York Road Runners (9 East 89th Street) on:

• Thursday, March 29, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
• Friday, March 30, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
• Saturday, March 31, 11:30-4:30 p.m.

On race day, Sunday, April 1, check-in/registration will be from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. in Central Park at the registration tent near the start.

Participant Photography

Post-Race

To celebrate Tartan Week, bagpipers and drums will entertain participants during the awards ceremony folloing the Scotland Run 10K. Awards will be given in all applicable NYRR categories. [Awards breakdown]

Tartan Week

Starting March 31, New York City will celebrate all things Scottish and inspire Americans to view Scotland as a land of many opportunities. Now in its eighth year, this festival of activities and events celebrates Scottish culture, heritage, and diversity. Scotland Run Prizes & Raffles

Race Scoring

This is a scored race that counts toward the nine races NYRR members as of January 2007 need to be eligible for guaranteed entry to the ING New York City Marathon 2008. The race is timed using the ChampionChip® system. You must complete the race with your chip attached to your shoe or your time will not be recorded. Please follow the instructions in your race packet on attaching the chip to your shoe and then returning the chip following the race. Note that you will be charged $35 if you do not return the chip within 20 days.

Baggage Facilities

Free baggage facilities will be provided as a convenience. If using this baggage service, bring an inexpensive bag and leave your valuables at home. New York Road Runners is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Rules of Competition

All NYRR races are organized and directed under USA Track & Field rules and regulations. Entrants must also comply with City of New York, Parks & Recreation and NYRR rules. Failure to do so may result in offenders being disqualified and possibly banned from NYRR events, including the ING New York City Marathon. [Click here for rules.]
