NYRR Al Gordon Snowflake 4-Mile - Saturday, February 24 / Central Park, New York / 4M / Men: 8:00 a.m., Women: 9:00 a.m.

Come out for the run and be inspired by Al Gordon, a 105-year-old NYRR board member and benefactor. Men and women race separately.

Note: These are single-sex races. Men must run at 8:00 a.m. and women must run at 9:00 a.m.

Course

All courses are subject to change. Check back here the day before the race for final confirmation.

Start on Central Park’s East Drive at 99th Street and head north. Turn left/west onto the 102nd Street Transverse, left/south onto West Drive, and then left/east onto the 72nd Street Transverse to East Drive. Continue north on East Drive to the finish at 99th Street.

Number Pickup /Registration

Entrants are required to pick up their numbers, scoring chips, and race souvenirs at New York Road Runners (9 East 89th Street) on:

• Thursday, February 22, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
• Friday, February 23, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
• Saturday, February 24, 6:30-7:50 a.m. (men), 7:30-8:50 a.m. (women)

If picking up on race day, be sure to allow yourself enough time to get from NYRR to the start (approximately 13 blocks away). Race souvenirs may also be picked up after the race at NYRR while supplies last. Number pickup/registration and race souvenir pickup will not take place in Central Park.

Post-Race

Results, bagels, fruit, and water will be distributed on site after the race. Awards can be picked up at NYRR. [Awards breakdown]

Race Scoring

This is a scored race that counts toward the nine races NYRR members as of January 2007 need to be eligible for guaranteed entry to the ING New York City Marathon 2008. The race is timed using the ChampionChip® system. You must complete the race with your chip attached to your shoe or your time will not be recorded. Please follow the instructions in your race packet on attaching the chip to your shoe and then returning the chip following the race. Note that you will be charged $35 if you do not return the chip within 20 days.

Baggage Facilities

Free baggage facilities will be provided as a convenience. If using this baggage service, bring an inexpensive bag and leave your valuables at home. New York Road Runners is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Rules of Competition

All NYRR races are organized and directed under USA Track & Field rules and regulations. Entrants must also comply with City of New York, Parks & Recreation and NYRR rules. Failure to do so may result in offenders being disqualified and possibly banned from NYRR events, including the ING New York City Marathon. [Click here for rules.]
