Westchester Track Club teammates Gurmessa Megerssa (ninth, 1:03:53), Worku Beyi (eighth, 1:03:39), and Demesse Tefera (seventh, 1:03:36) hung together break into the world-class field’s top 10.

Jorge Pardo of Brooklyn ran 1:10:06 and led Urban Athletics to third place in the men’s open division.

Robert Cannon of Toms River, NJ, rounded out the top 20 finishers in 1:06:51.

Stephen Chemlany of WTC, a native of Kenya, was 14th in 1:04:57.

Ethiopian native Kassahun Kabiso, representing WTC, placed 22nd with a 1:07:10 finish.

Abidi Bouazza (1:08:04) of Kingston, NY, and WTC, pulled ahead of Elmustafa McHkirate (1:08:31) of Astoria and West Side Runners (WSX) ran together in the middle miles.

Eduard Gapak, of Brooklyn and Warren Street (WSSAC), finished 29th overall in 1:09:15.


Felipe Vergara, 42, of Brooklyn and WSX, earned second place in his age group by finishing in 1:15:05.

The 49th male finisher, Diego Vanegas of Manhattan and WSX, crossed the finish line in 1:15:12.


Alfonso Polania, 44, of Queens and WSX, secured the fourth-place spot in his age group with a 1:18:05 finish.

Brian Galfano, 31, of White Plains, NY, and Taconic Road Runners, averaged a 6:37-per-mile pace to finish in 1:26:41.


Team for Kids runner Brendan Murphy of Manhattan supported a great cause and pulled off a great finish in 1:32:15.

The 13th woman to cross the finish line, Atalelech Ketema of the Bronx and Westchester Track Club (WTC) finished in 1:17:20. WTC won the women’s open division.

Benjamin Cardozo School of Law student Caroline Bierbaum pulled off an amazing 1:18:03 finish in her half-marathon debut.

U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Women’s Marathon qualifier Michelle Rorke, of Manhattan and the New York Athletic Club (NYAC), finished in 1:18:15.

The top 40-year-old female finisher, Grace Behrens of Sleepy Hollow, NY and WTC, crossed the finish line in 1:20:30.

Kelly Chin, of Brooklyn and Moving Comfort New York, was the 17th woman to finish, setting a PR of 1:20:54. Chin won the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge in June.

Arianne Field, of Manhattan and NYAC, crossed the finish line 18th in 1:21:03.

Christine Clifton of Long Branch, NJ, finished 20th in 1:21:41.

NYAC’s Erin Flynn crossed the finish line in 1:21:59; the team took second in the women’s open division.

Kelly Devine of Dover, PA, was 16th in her age group (1:23:01).


Placing 25th among women in 1:23:10 was Lauren Gustafson of Manhattan and the Nike Central Park Track Club.


Diane Kenna, 42, of Manhattan and the New York Harriers, placed fourth in her age group with a 1:25:24 finish.

Hermela Romero of Guttenberg, NJ, and West Side Runners, finished in 1:28:54, earning 15th place in her age group.
