NYRR 2006 age 20-29 Runner of the Year Alemteshay Misganaw, 26, representing Westchester Track Club (WTC), went out with the lead pack.

Many other top local runners chased the top international professional runners in the the first mile, run up Central Park West.

It was another great day at the “office” for full-time runner Misganaw, of Manhattan, the top local finisher, in 34:15.

Winner of the NYJL Mother’s Day 10-Mile, Claudia Camargo, 36, of West Side Runners, finished 19th in 34:45.

A native of Ethiopia, Atalelech Ketema, 24, of WTC, pulled in a 34:57 finish that earned her 23rd place.

Former Columbia University star Caroline Bierbaum (left), 23, reeled in CPTC’s Aileen Conlon, 25, to finish 26th; both were timed in 36:22.

Victoria Ganushina, 27, of Warren Street, ran 6:01-per-mile pace to finish 30th in 37:20.

Lauren Esposito, 28, of CPTC, held a lead over Michelle Rorke, 23, of the New York Athletic Club (NYAC), and managed 31st place in 37:30.

Lauren Gustafson, 24, of CPTC, and Teyba Naser, 20, of Ethiopia, maintained a strong 6:05-per-mile pace throughout the race. Naser placed 32nd in 37:44, followed by Gustafson in 33rd in 37:47.

Rorke, who has qualified for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Women’s Marathon, ran a fast early mile and held on to finish 34th overall in 37:59.

Gordon Bakoulis, 46, of Moving Comfort New York (MCNY) was the top masters (40+) finisher and 35th overall in 38:00.

NYAC’s Megan Guiney, 26, finished in 38:18, good for 38th place. NYAC placed third in the open division.

Allison Lind, 26, representing CPTC, was 39th in 38:35. CPTC won the open division, putting it in first place in the year’s standings to date.

CPTC’s Felice Kelly, 26, placed 48th in 39:52.

Deborah Gaebler, 42, of the Greater New York Racing Team (GNY), ran 40:22, placing third in her age group and 54th overall. Cara Macari, 37, of Urban Athletics, was 56th overall in 40:27.

Julia Knittel, 32, of The Running Center (41:01); Heather Williams, 31, GNY (41:13); Rachel Zuckerman, 29, Shoe4Africa (41:13).

Michele Magdo, 31, GNY (41:25); Katie Castro, 24, GNY (41:25); Monika Nemeth, 32, S4A (41:58); Hermela Romero, 36, WSX (41:17).

Beth St. John, of Brooklyn and RNYC, finished in 42:22; Elizabeth Oliner, 29, of the New York Flyers, was timed in 43:15.

Jean Chodnicki-Stemm, 47, of Warren Street (WSSAC), was fourth in her age group and 70th overall in 41:35.

WSSAC’s Kim Griffin, 45, finished in 42:50. She is a former NYRR Fred Lebow Runner of the Year and won the Mini in 1998.

Kate Sunbury, 32, of Hellgate Road Runners, finished in 45:47.

It was a sea of colorful team singlets as local runners proudly wore their club colors.

Ann Hyman, 51, of MCNY, was ninth in her age group with her 50:19 finish. MCNY placed first among age 50-59 teams.
