The view from MacNeil Park, a nub of land poking out into Long Island Sound, is just one of many attractions you’ll pass during this fourth race of the Grand Prix series. Be greeted by College Point Road Runners as you cruise through the streets of New York City's largest and most diverse borough.


Course
All courses are subject to change. Check back here the day before the race for final confirmation.

Start on Poppenhusen Avenue near 119th Street, adjacent to Hermon MacNeil Park in College Point, Queens. Continue on city streets through College Point and Whitestone, finish inside MacNeil Park.

Lemon-Lime Gatorade Endurance Formula sports drink will be available at official fluid stations throughout the course. This specialized sports drink has a unique, five electrolyte blend (including sodium and potassium) designed to meet the needs of athletes during endurance competitions.

 

Number Pickup/Registration
Entrants are required to pick up their numbers, scoring chips, and race souvenir (sizes subject to availability) in advance. Materials may be picked up at New York Road Runners (9 East 89th Street, between Madison and Fifth Avenues) on:

• Thursday, September 20, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
• Friday, September 21, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
• Saturday, September 22, 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.


At MacNeil Park near the start on:

• Sunday, September 23, 5:30-6:30 a.m.

 

Note: Participants must be at least 12 years old.

 

Directions
When planning your travel, keep in mind that roads near the start will close by 6:15 a.m. and will not re-open until after 10:30 a.m.

Bus Service: Bus service between Manhattan and the race will be available for $6 round-trip. Buses will leave from Fifth Avenue at East 90th Street starting at 4:00 a.m. and the last bus will leave at 5:15 a.m. sharp. Buses will return to this location after the awards ceremony. If you want to take this bus, check the appropriate box on the application.  Due to high demand, bus ticket sales will end on Sunday, September 9, at 11:59 p.m. All bus tickets must be picked up at registration on September 20, 21, or 22. You will not be permitted on a shuttle on race day morning without a ticket.  No further ticket sales will occur once the shuttles have sold out.


By Car: Please note: There is street parking only near the start. From Manhattan, take the Long Island Expressway to the College Point Boulevard exit. Proceed north and continue on College Point Boulevard to MacNeil Park. From Long Island, take the Cross Island Parkway north to the Whitestone Expressway; take exit 15 (20th Avenue) and follow 20th Avenue to College Point Boulevard. Turn right and continue to MacNeil Park. From the Bronx, take the Whitestone Bridge to the 20th Avenue exit; turn right on 20th Avenue and continue to College Point Boulevard. Turn right and continue to MacNeil Park.

By Subway/Bus: Take the 7 subway toward Flushing to Main Street.

Outside the subway station, at the southeast corner of Main Street and Roosevelt Avenue, take the Q25 (119th Street/Fifth Avenue) bus to Poppenhusen Avenue at 119th Street. You may also take a free bus from Main Street and Roosevelt Avenue courtesy of Bronx Science Bus Service.

 

Time Limit
Participants will be timed up to three hours. After that time, medical facilities and refreshments will not be available. Members who finish after three hours can receive credit toward qualifying for guaranteed entry to the ING New York City Marathon 2008 but will not have a time listed in the race results; e-mail results@nyrr.org to get credit for the race.
