Emerald Nuts Midnight Run

Sunday, December 31 / DJ Music and Dancing • 10:00 p.m. / Costume Parade and Contest • 11:00 p.m. / Fireworks and 4M Race • Midnight / Central Park, New York

Usher in 2007 with speedy style! Featuring a costume parade, dancing, and fireworks, this four-miler is more of a party than a race. Count down the minutes ’til midnight and then count down the miles ’til the finish line.

Place

Dancing and the costume contest are at the Central Park Bandshell, just south of the 72nd Street Transverse in Central Park, New York. The closest entrance is at Fifth Avenue and 72nd Street.

Courses

All courses are subject to change. Check back here the day before the race for final confirmation.

Start on Central Park’s East Drive (near 68th Street) and head north to the 102nd Street Transverse. Turn left / west across the transverse and the left / south on the West Drive. Continue to the finish line on the West Drive (near 68th Street).

Race Souvenir

All participants will receive a long-sleeve shirt plus a special souvenir. Size satisfaction is subject to availability.

Number Pick-up/Registration

Advance check-in is required for entrants to pick up their race materials. Check-in/registration will be at New York Road Runners on:

• Friday, December 29, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
• Saturday, December 30, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
• Sunday, December 31, 10:00 a.m.-10:30 p.m.

If checking in on race day, be sure to allow yourself enough time to get from NYRR to the festivities (approximately a mile away). There is no registration or number pickup in Central Park.

Groups

If you are participating with a group of 10 or more entrants, one person may pick up race packets for the entire group. Fax the list of names in your group to 212.831.1950 before 6:00 p.m. on December 26 to arrange for pick-up during the check-in hours listed above.

Participant Photos

brightroom will be photographing all race participants. Make sure your race number is clearly visible on the front of your shirt so you can be easily identified. Please click here to register with brightroom to be informed when your photos are ready.

Post-Race

Stick around after the race for the awards ceremony. Top three male and female finishers will receive prize money ($500, $300, $200), with time and record bonuses available as well. [Prizes]

Costume Contest

Don a costume and join the parade! The parade will begin at 11:00 p.m. in front of the Central Park Bandshell just south of the 72nd Street Transverse (line up at 10:45 p.m.).
 
This year there will be a costume contest! Prizes will be given to the top three creative designs . For the latter category, come dressed as your favorite Emerald Nuts product, a character from Emerald's television commercials, or invent your own character. Click here for nutty inspiration.
 
Lucky winners in both categories will be awarded nut-filled gift baskets and more. Individual or group costumes are welcome. However, for group costumes, NYRR cannot guarantee a prize for each person.
