The application and drawing period for the 2017 United Airlines NYC Half has passed, but you can still get a spot in the race by signing up to run with NYRR Team for Kids. You’ll receive professional training support while raising funds to help students across the country experience the joys of running and fitness.

The 2017 United Airlines NYC Half will take runners from around the city and the globe on a 13.1-mile tour of NYC. Led by a talent-packed roster of American and international elites, runners will stop traffic in Manhattan this March!

Eligibility for entry to the 2017 United Airlines NYC Half was guaranteed for NYRR members who had an active membership by the last qualifying event of the 2016 NYRR Five-Borough Series (Staten Island Half on October 9), and who ran four of the following six events in 2016: Fred Lebow Manhattan Half, United Airlines NYC Half, Airbnb Brooklyn Half, Queens 10K, New Balance Bronx 10 Mile, and Staten Island Half. The 2017 United Airlines NYC Half is a Four Out of Six qualifier for the 2018 United Airlines NYC Half, which follows the same model as above.

Start on East Drive in Central Park, just north of East 72nd Street, and head north.
Continue north, and bear right at the Lenox Avenue exit from Central Park. Turn left at 110th Street/Central Park North. Run counter-clockwise around Central Park West Circle and return on 110th Street/Central Park North, then turn right at the Lenox Avenue entrance to Central Park. Bear right at East Drive and continue south on West Drive.
Continue South on West Drive. Turn right at the Seventh Avenue exit from Central Park. Continue south on Seventh Avenue through Times Square.
Turn right at West 42nd Street, then right at the West Side Highway. Run north in the northbound lanes, make a U-turn at West 44th Street, and run south in the southbound lanes.
Continue south in the southbound lanes of the West Side Highway.
Bear left at the Battery Park Underpass entrance. Run through the underpass and continue on FDR Drive North. Bear right at the South Street exit and then turn right at South Street. Turn left at Maiden Lane, and left at Water Street to finish at Wall Street.
The NYRR Pace Team, wearing their signature white and blue striped singlets, will run even splits through all 13.1 miles of the United Airlines NYC Half. NYRR Pace Team members will lead runners to finish times at every five-minute interval from 1:20 to 2:15, and will also offer a 2:30 pace group. The 2017 United Airlines NYC Half finisher certificate will be available free of charge in both digital and print versions. Be on the lookout for a post-race communication from MarathonFoto with information about the finisher certificate.
Awards will be available to the top three men and women overall, as well as in age and gender groups as explained in this article. A list of all award winners will be posted in the results for each race.

Women must start as part of the women-only invitational start at 7:18 a.m. to be eligible for prize money in the open category. NYRR-member prize money will be determined by order of finish based on gun time.
To be eligible for any NYRR member awards, an athlete must be a member in good standing of NYRR since September 19, 2016.
