Charity Runners Add to Their 13.1

With a field of nearly 20,000 athletes taking on the 2017 United Airlines NYC Half, more than 2,000 runners used the race as an opportunity to raise funds for charities and non-profit organizations.

American runner Molly Huddle and South African wheelchair racer Ernst van Dyk both won their third consecutive United Airlines NYC Half titles and Ethiopian Feyisa Lilesa and American Susannah Scaroni took their first victories.

Few events can shut down New York City’s Times Square—but the United Airlines NYC Half is one of them. And on Sunday morning, nearly 20,000 runners from 88 countries ran through its famous florescent lights.
