Due to the extreme heat forecast for Saturday, this training run has been shortened by five miles. Runners will complete one six-mile loop, one five-mile loop, and one four-mile loop—all described below. Runners must start the final loop by 9:30 a.m.

Gearing up to run the TCS New York City Marathon or another fall marathon? Get in some long-distance practice with these runs, featuring built-in fuel, pace-setters, and training partners.
In the start corrals, participants will divide into groups based on pace. Please look for the sign indicating your planned per-mile pace and stage yourself accordingly. If you choose to run with a pace group, members of the NYRR Pace Team—you’ll recognize their blue and white striped tanks—will carry signs that correspond with the following marathon finish times and paces:
All pacers will cover 15 miles, but individuals may shorten their distance to suit their training needs. Runners may switch between pace groups as they wish.
Runners faster than 7:00 per mile may begin before the 7:00 group; however, no pace leader will be provided. The official course will close at 10:30 a.m. Water, PowerGels, and Gatorade Endurance Formula will be available on the 102nd Street Cross Drive throughout the run.
This is an unscored, untimed, noncompetitive run and does not count toward qualifying for guaranteed entry to the TCS New York City Marathon.

The course consists of three loops of varying distances—a six-mile loop, followed by a five-mile loop and a four-mile loop.
Loop 1: Start on East Drive near the 102nd Street Cross Drive and head north for a six-mile circuit. The first mile includes the challenging Harlem Hills.
Loop 2: Run west on the 102nd Street Cross Drive (along which you'll find fluids, fuel, and toilets); turn left onto West Drive and complete a five-mile circuit, ending back on East Drive at the 102nd Street Cross Drive.
Loop 3: Cross the 102nd Street Cross Drive a final time and head down West Drive again. Turn left at the 72nd Street Transverse and left again onto East Drive. Run up Cat Hill for the third time and turn left to finish on the 102nd Street Cross Drive.
The official course will close at 10:30 a.m.

Numbers (which include your timing tag) may be picked up at the NYRR RUNCENTER at 320 West 57th Street (between Eighth and Ninth avenues) on the following dates:
Show the QR code from your confirmation email or your My NYRR account to pick up your materials. Please pick up during the week to avoid crowds on event day. Numbers will be available on event day from 5:45 to 6:30 a.m. at Ballfield #8 near East Drive in Central Park. Event-day lines may impact your ability to get to the start on time. There is no souvenir for this event.
If you're unable to pick up your materials, a friend or family member can pick up for you; the person will need your QR code (printed or digitally). This policy is in effect for all our races and events except the TCS New York City Marathon.
Bag check, located on the 102nd Street Transverse, will be open from 5:45 to 10:45 a.m.
