Who has the fastest team in town? The city's top running squads race for bragging rights in this teams-only five-miler.
This race is open only to members of established, NYRR-recognized teams (see requirements for entry below). Men and women race in separate events. See NYRR Team Championships: Men (5M) for details on the men's race.
Please remember to keep the park clean for park users! Please do not staple, tape, or stake any flyers to Central Park trees or benches, and do not erect any tents or string any tarps. If you choose to meet up with your team after finishing the race, please maintain a clean area and throw all trash into the provided garbage bins.
Event hashtag: #NYRRTeamChamps—use it in your public tweets, Instagrams, and Facebook posts!
Live unofficial results are available during the race at liveresults.nyrr.org and in the NYRR app. Features include leaderboards, map tracking, and an individual runner search that can be shared on Facebook and Twitter. Tell your friends and family to follow your progress, and get unofficial results right after the race!
This is a women’s club points race worth double points.
Take a look through 30 years of the NYRR Team Championships with our all-time winners list, showcasing the top individuals and teams from every year since the race began in 1987.
Only members of established and NYRR-recognized running teams may enter this race and receive credit for it. However, you do not need to be a NYRR member to enter. In addition, entrants must have completed at least one NYRR scored/qualifying race between July 31, 2016, and August 4, 2017, for the team for which they will be scoring. Furthermore, they may not have competed for that team until at least 90 days after having competed for another team.
If a participating team has not fielded a full team in their division (men’s and women’s open, 40+, 50+, 60+, 70+) at a prior NYRR team-points race since January 1, 2016, the team may not score in that division at the NYRR Team Championships.
All team categories for the NYRR Team Championships are scored by time. Team categories are as follows:
Mile 1: Start on the 102nd Street Cross Drive heading west, make a left onto West Drive, and run a series of three rolling hills with the Reservoir on your left.
Mile 2: Continue south on West Drive, which is mostly flat and downhill here. The two-mile mark is just before West 67th Street, near the finish line of the TCS New York City Marathon.
Mile 3: Continue around the southern end of the park and then north on East Drive, passing the three-mile mark just before the 72nd Street Transverse.
Mile 4: Pass the 72nd Street Transverse and the Boathouse on your left, then climb Cat Hill (74th Street to 78th Street) to the four-mile mark behind the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Mile 5: Continue north on East Drive and pass the Fred Lebow statue at Engineers' Gate. Make a final left turn onto the 102nd Street Cross Drive and continue to the finish.
