Join New York Road Runners in Central Park for this 10K that celebrates the arrival of spring and can serve as test of your long-distance fitness, a solid training run, or a tune-up for a spring marathon.
This is a Classic Race that brings back the feel—and the pricing—of our events of yesteryear. The entry fee is $10 in all categories, and there are no T-shirts, no physical awards (award winners will be listed on our website as usual), and no post-race activities. The race is timed and scored, but it is not a marathon qualifier and it has a reduced field size. Please note: This event is open to NYRR members only. Sign up to become a member or renew your membership today!
Event hashtag: #CPSpringClassic—use it in your tweets, Instagrams, and Facebook posts!
NYRR Members: Join us at the NYRR RUNCENTER featuring the New Balance Run Hub on Thursday, March 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. for a casual member meetup! During NYRR Central Park Spring Classic 10K number pickup, we’ll be hosting a course strategy session and then playing March Madness basketball games. Stick around to network and enjoy some light refreshments!
The course is slightly more than one lap of Central Park’s six-mile loop.
Mile 1: Start on East Drive just south of the 102nd Street Cross Drive and head north around the northern end of the park through the Harlem Hills, then south on West Drive.
Mile 2: Continue through a series of three rolling hills as you pass the Reservoir on your left.
Mile 3: Enjoy a downhill, followed by a flat section.
Mile 4: Pass the 72nd Street Transverse and climb a small hill to the TCS New York City Marathon finish line. Continue south around the bottom of the park and onto East Drive.
Mile 5: Pass the 72nd Street Transverse and continue north. Ascend Cat Hill and pass the Metropolitan Museum of Art on your right.
Mile 6: Pass Engineers' Gate (East 90th Street) and continue north. Shortly after the six-mile mark, turn left onto the 102nd Street Cross Drive and continue to the finish.
