The 2016 United Airlines NYC Half will take runners from around the city and the globe on a 13.1-mile tour of NYC. Led by a talent-packed roster of American and international elites, runners will stop traffic in Manhattan, from Central Park through Times Square to South Street Seaport!

The United Airlines NYC Half will have three wave starts for runners, preceded by starts for pro wheelchair and handcycle athletes. Information on the wave start timeline is coming soon.
Start on East Drive in Central Park, just north of East 72nd Street, and head north.
Continue north, and bear right at the Lenox Avenue exit from Central Park. Turn left at 110th Street/Central Park North. Run counter-clockwise around Central Park West Circle and return on 110th Street/Central Park North, then turn right at the Lenox Avenue entrance to Central Park. Bear right at East Drive and continue south on West Drive.
Continue South on West Drive. Turn right at the Seventh Avenue exit from Central Park. Continue south on Seventh Avenue through Times Square.
Turn right at West 42nd Street, then right at the West Side Highway. Run north in the northbound lanes, make a U-turn at West 43rd Street, and run south in the southbound lanes.
Continue south in the southbound lanes of the West Side Highway.
Bear left at the Battery Park Underpass entrance. Run through the underpass and continue on FDR Drive North. Bear right at the South Street exit and then turn right at South Street. Turn left at Maiden Lane, and left at Water Street to finish at Wall Street.
This event has a three-hour time limit. Participants who are not able to maintain a 13:45-per-mile pace will have the opportunity to board a sweep bus for transport to the post-finish area. These participants may choose to continue running on the sidewalks, but they should be aware that fluid stations and other course amenities may not be available.

2016 United Airlines NYC Half Expo

The expo is free and open to the public, and it features United Airlines NYC Half merchandise and many vendors and exhibitors of the best in running souvenirs, product samples, race applications, health and medical advice, running-related activities, and more.
All runners must visit the expo to pick up their race number (which includes the B-tag timing device), technical shirt, and baggage bag. Runners will not be able to pick up their materials without showing photo ID, and only the runner may pick up his or her race number. Absolutely no race numbers will be available on race morning.
The 2016 United Airlines NYC Half finisher certificate will be available free of charge in both digital and print versions. Be on the lookout for a post-race communication from MarathonFoto with information about the finisher certificate.
Awards will be available to the top three men and women overall, as well as in age and gender groups as explained in this article. A list of all award winners will be posted in the results for each race.

The 2016 United Airlines NYC Half offers $100,000 in prize money. The men’s and women’s champions will each receive $20,000.
Women must start as part of the women-only invitational start at 7:18 a.m. to be eligible for prize money in the open category. NYRR-member prize money will be determined by order of finish based on gun time.
