Memorial Sloan Kettering's Fred's Team Presents Grete's Great Gallop

Join Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Fred’s Team for Grete’s Great Gallop (named for legendary marathoner Grete Waitz, a close friend of New York City Marathon co-founder Fred Lebow) on October 2 in Central Park! Grete and Fred ran the 1992 New York City Marathon while he was fighting brain cancer. Today, Fred’s Team (named after Lebow) has raised more than $65 million to bring us all one step closer to a world without cancer.

Event hashtag: #GretesGreatGallop—use it in your tweets, Instagrams, and Facebook posts!

Live Results

Live unofficial results are available during the race at liveresults.nyrr.org. Features include leaderboards, map tracking, and an individual runner search that can be shared on Facebook and Twitter. Tell your friends and family to follow your progress, and because the system works great on mobile devices, you can get unofficial results right after the race!

No child will be released to an adult without a claim tag.

Check out our guidelines for NYRR kids' races before race day.

Race-day lines may impact your ability to get to the start on time. Shirt size is subject to availability; please note that shirts may not be available at race-day pickup.

On race day, numbers will be available at Race-Day Central in Central Park from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. for the half-marathon and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. for the kids' races. If you pick up on race day, please be sure to allow yourself enough time to get from Race-Day Central to the start.

If you're unable to pick up your race materials, a friend or family member can pick up for you; the person will need your QR code (printed or digitally) and will need to know your T-shirt size. This policy is in effect only for our weekly races, not for the United Airlines NYC Half or the TCS New York City Marathon.
