In their neon-green jerseys, NYRR Team for Kids runners were hard to miss as they crossed the finish line at the 2015 United Airlines Half. Other charity teams were decorated in their own distinct uniforms, from multicolored singlets to bright tutus.
What a difference a day makes. On Sunday morning, less than 24 hours after cold rain sent shivers through Manhattan, nearly 20,000 runners enjoyed lovely racing weather at the 2015 United Airlines NYC Half.
When Molly Huddle came out of the Battery Park Underpass last year, the slight incline felt like Mt. Everest. This year, it might as well have been the Bonneville Salt Flats, as the 30-year-old pulled away from rival Joyce Chepkirui to win the United Airlines NYC Half.
With nearly 20,000 runners lining up to race at the 2015 United Airlines NYC Half, NYRR called on more than 2,200 volunteers to ensure a safe and successful race week.
