Join Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Fred’s Team for Grete’s Great Gallop (named for legendary marathoner Grete Waitz, a close friend of New York City Marathon co-founder Fred Lebow) on October 5 in Central Park! Grete and Fred ran the 1992 New York City Marathon while he was fighting brain cancer. Today, Fred’s Team (named after Lebow) has raised more than $54 million to bring us all one step closer to a world without cancer. The event includes a half-marathon and a 1.7-mile run, as well as kids' races.
Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Fred’s Team Presents Grete's Great Gallop 1.7M (8:15 a.m. on the same day) is also open for registration; the 1.7-mile event is NOT a marathon qualifier. Please register for one event only.
