Once each year, a beautiful 20-block stretch of Fifth Avenue opens to runners of all ages and abilities who want to run their best mile in NYC—from the Met to Grand Army Plaza!
If you're a novice runner, join us for your first race experience. If you're a veteran, come out and try for a personal best, running with your age-group peers. Special heats include a youth mile, the George Sheehan Memorial Mile for runners age 60 and over, the NYRR Road Mile Championships, and Olympic-caliber professional men's and women's races. This year's NYRR Fifth Avenue is part of the NYRR club points series.
Spectators can cheer all along the course and near the finish line. Come out to run, cheer, and be part of a great day of running in NYC! New this year, the NYRR Fifth Avenue Mile will feature a Selfie Station! Runners and fans are invited to snap a selfie (or usie, if you prefer) with the pro runners after the race at the awards stage from 1:45 to 2:15 p.m. Please note: The athletes’ availability will be limited. Stay tuned for news of the pro athlete field.
Please review our enhanced security measures.
Use MTA Trip Planner to plan your trip.
All race details are subject to change.
Entrants will run in sections. You must run the section corresponding to your age and gender to be eligible for awards. Please note that no numbers (bibs) will be available for pickup after 12:00 noon.
Children ages 8–14 will run after the professional runners, who will cheer for and greet them at the finish. Children should plan to come to the start line early to give a big cheer to the pros!
