Celebrate traditional and contemporary Japanese culture at this four-mile race in Central Park, now in its eighth year. The race and accompanying kids' races are part of Japan Day @ Central Park, which starts immediately after the Japan Run and features a variety of Japanese food, activities, and stage performances over the course of the day.

The course is the four-mile Central Park "inner loop."
Mile 1: Start on East Drive near East 68th Street and run north, ascending Cat Hill.
Mile 2: Continue north and and pass Engineers' Gate (East 90th Street). Turn left onto the 102nd Street Transverse.
Mile 3: Turn left on West Drive and run south through a series of three rolling hills as you pass the Reservoir on your left.
Mile 4: Enjoy a downhill, then a flat section. Turn left onto the 72nd Street Transverse and finish just west of Bethesda Terrace.

Kids' races (ages 2–12) will begin at 9:30 a.m. at a location to be determined. The entry fee is $6 in advance and $8 on race day. Please note that parents/guardians of children ages 7 and older will not be permitted to enter the course; they should meet their children after their races in the reunion area.
Numbers (which include your timing tag) and T-shirts may be picked up at NYRR (9 East 89th Street/Fred Lebow Place) on:
• Thursday, May 8, 1:00–7:00 p.m.
• Friday, May 9, 1:00–7:00 p.m.
• Saturday, May 10, 11:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Shirt size is subject to availability. Please pick up on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday to avoid crowds. On race day, pickup will be at Race Day Central in Central Park (see course map) from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. (4-mile race) and from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. (kids' races). If you pick up on race day, please be sure to allow yourself enough time to get from Race Day Central to the start.
If you're unable to pick up your race materials, a friend or family member can pick them up for you; the person will need to know your full name and date of birth. This policy is only for our weekly races, not for our marquee events.
Celebrate Mother's Day in Japanese style at the Japan Day Festival, in front of the Naumberg Bandshell immediately following the four-mile race. Enjoy traditional and contemporary Japanese culture through food, activities, and stage performances. For more information, visit japandaynyc.org.
Age-group awards will be available on-site at the awards table after the race. Runners can check the awards sheet at the table and collect their awards. Awards not collected on-site will be available at NYRR.
