Four things you should do today!
The Brooklyn Half is NYRR’s marquee race in Brooklyn—the borough with attitude. The Half has been running since ’81, and it's a race like no other.
To kick off race weekend, we'll welcome you to the Brooklyn Half Pre-Party presented by New Balance, with heaps of Brooklyn flavor. The Half itself will have the biggest field ever, a wicked-fast lead pack, and a fast, fun course with a big Brooklyn payoff—the homestretch is a dash along the world-famous Coney Island boardwalk.
For the latest in great running shoes and gear, check out New Balance.
Stay tuned for more information on this year’s coverage of the 2014 Brooklyn Half in On the Run, NYRR's running lifestyle show!
The Brooklyn Half is a part of NYRR's Five-Borough Series: Run New York. Five Boroughs. One City.
All race information is subject to change.
Get special deals and discounts, along the course and off, in neighborhoods all over Brooklyn! Refuel at restaurants and bars, shop for gear, check out entertainment options, and more. You’ll be helping to support participating businesses throughout the Borough of Kings. Runners can show their race numbers and friends and family can show a Run the City pass. More info is coming soon.
Please note that NYRR members who run four of the following six events in 2014 (Fred Lebow Manhattan Half, NYC Half, Brooklyn Half, Queens 10K, Bronx Run, and Staten Island Half) and have an active membership by year-end 2014 will be eligible for guaranteed entry to the 2015 NYC Half.
Start near the Brooklyn Museum and run the first couple of miles past the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and around Brooklyn’s Grand Army Plaza before entering Prospect Park. After a loop around the park, exit from the southwest corner onto Ocean Parkway and cruise toward Brooklyn’s world-famous Coney Island and the finish on the boardwalk.
Your race-weekend experience will start at the Brooklyn Half Pre-Party presented by New Balance at Pier 2, 150 Furman Street in Brooklyn. Check out our walking map here. You’ll need to bring or display your registration form (instructions here) and photo ID, pick up your race materials, including your bib (which includes your timing tag), and the official bag that you can use to check your race-day clothing. Whether you pick up for yourself or as a proxy for someone else (see below), you'll need that race registration form.
Get your amazing New Balance technical shirt in that area as well, and then explore everything that Brooklyn has to offer! Check out the food, groove to live music, and hang out with friends.
